Custom catalogues

Add your own software and categories to the catalogue.

A custom catalogue is a YAML document that adds entries and categories to the ones Quasar ships. Use it for your own software, or to offer a service configured the way you like it.

Manage them in Settings → Catalogues.

Adding a catalogue

There are three ways:

Write one directly on the page.
Paste a YAML document.
Import from a URL. Quasar keeps the URL and gives you a re-fetch button.

A document with errors is not saved. The page lists every problem found, not only the first.

Editing entries

Entries can also be edited one at a time in a form, without writing YAML. The form and the YAML are two views of the same document, so you can switch between them freely.

How entries appear

Each custom catalogue gets its own button on the new-application page, so your entries aren’t lost among the built-in ones.
New categories appear as filter buttons in the catalogue.
An entry that reuses the id of a built-in entry replaces that entry.

Examples

The Quasar repository has ready-made catalogues in catalogs/:

File	What it shows
`game-servers.yaml`	Parameters used in the app name and subdomain, so several servers don’t collide. Replacing a built-in entry.
`dev-stacks.yaml`	A parameter in the image tag: one entry for every version.
`homelab.yaml`	A new category, and the `{{HOST}}`, `{{URL}}` and `{{RANDOM}}` placeholders.
